Um 18.30 h spricht Dr. Suhailah Akbari im Pangea-Haus zum Thema Frauenrechte und Feminismus in Bezug auf Afghanistan. Dr. Suhailah Akbari ist Rechtswissenschaftlerin und Aktivistin und momentan als Post-Doc an der Humboldt-Uni zu Berlin tätig.
Sie wird u.a. Einblicke in die rechtlichen Aspekte der Geschlechter-Apartheid und ihre persönlichen Erfahrungen unter dem Taliban-Regime geben.

Dr. Akbari will share her invaluable insights on the legal aspects, women’s rights, and her personal experiences under the Taliban regime.
Her journey, from her roles in the Afghan government to her current advocacy work in exile, is a testament to her resilience and unwavering commitment to the cause of women’s rights. Her story is not just one of survival, but also of determination to continue the fight for a better future for the women and girls of Afghanistan.
This event will be an engaging session, shedding light on the critical issues faced by women in Afghanistan today.
It will be held in English.
On the Speaker
Dr. Suhailah Akbari was born in September 1990 in Takhar, Afghanistan. Dr. Akbari holds a bachelor’s degree in law and political science from Kabul University, an LL.M in sustainable development law from the University of Washington through a Fulbright scholarship, and a doctorate in law with focus on international trade law from the University of Passau.
She is currently a post-doctoral scholar at Humboldt Universität zu Berlin,doing research on international trade policy related to clean energy.
