Expert Talk with Tooba Lutfi – Taliban and Women: Challenges Faced by Female Protesters under the Taliban Government

In recent times, the world has witnessed significant geopolitical shifts, and the resurgence of the Taliban in Afghanistan has prompted a closer examination of the impact on various segments of society. This lecture will focus specifically on the experiences and challenges confronted by female protesters navigating the complex socio-political landscape under the Taliban’s rule.

Our speaker Tooba Lutfi will explore the multifaceted issues faced by women who courageously advocate for their rights in the face of a changing political climate. Tooba Lutfi is an activist and political scientist. She was not only a part of the demonstrations against the Taliban in 2021, but one of the organizers. Originally from Panjshir, Afghanistan, she lives in Berlin now.
